SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Alexander I Balas, 152-145 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.23 g, 12 h), Antiochia on the Orontes, circa 150-149. Diademed head of Alexander I to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ - ΘΕΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ / ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, cornucopia; in exergue, [monogram ΓΞΡ]. HGC 9, 887a. SC 1785.4. Nicely toned. Minor crack, otherwise, very fine.
